Looking at the other comments makes me think of a compromise aproch. I think part of why the Sonic art style was successful was because it followed at least a few anatomical rules while bending others. The hands generally look good on Sonic characters, but I guess that part would mostly be practice. The arm length of the wrist reaching the crotch could be variable but could also look better when looking more natural. Also female backs tend to be large, though I'm not sure how Sonic style deals with that. It'll mostly be up to you how you'd like to or if you'd like to balance style with recognizable anatomy.
My impression is you're off to a great start, especially with the look in her eye and the hair.

Sucy responds:

This is not a Sonic style? This is my own style, but thank you

The theme is pretty nice. Cropping out the sections recommended.

GhoulKitten responds:

Thanks. And, meh, I don't think it's too necessary. Esspecially because this isn't the finished piece.

I thought of a tip for the sword pose. To me it looks like the handle bends out of alignment with the blade. A way to see an arm and weapon angle could be to have someone photograph you holding a pole over your shoulder like this character. Self photo referencing like that is a thing.
I especially like the gun and leg pieces.

tanithjackal responds:

I'm not really completely pleased with the sword either, but the reference I had to work with wasn't really the best.

Breathtaking, but I wander what your method of rendering was.

Conquestus responds:

Thanks. I premade the ground via PD Howler 9.6. Drew the heightmap and converted it with the integrated - 3D Designer. The rest was made traditionally via Photoshop.

I like the armor enough to maybe make fan art of it.

JozzyForge responds:

Yeah, go ahead if ya like! c:

The floating feel is captured well by the direction and animation of the outfit.

V3nis responds:

thank you :D

originally it was suppose to be a female musketeer, but it suddenly turned into this...

Lol. You even included the bloody pigeon.
I can't think of anything I'd change besides maybe the left suspender strap.

Tikonka responds:

Yeah, a left suspender strap isn't so good :I
And thank you!

Where dose the chest strap attach? The back tattoo is nice, but the chest strap is confusing.

Trebuxet responds:

Hahahah I know... XD

I recommend finding a game cube for $30 and trying that version. The button controls for the sword won't tire out your arm. You'll enjoy the challenge required to best a darknought knight.

As for the art, I recommend studying anatomy or some reference. The straight and mostly vertical groin lines seem more masculine than lower curvier lines. It may also help to show the collar bones on the upper chest.
That aside, you did good with the shading and lit up parts.

DarkNeedle101 responds:

Oh, wow... I forgot the collar bone!!!
That didn't even register when I was finishing this up... anyways thanks for the advice, I did however have reference but I do see there to be a difference in how groin lines curve... I'll keep that in mind next time.

A name? What about Dota5? The 5 at the end sounds robotic and separates it from a taken name.
I've had a fear of design theft and decided to just not upload the two OCs I like the most.
She's so cute.

Saintanist responds:

oh god that game
i actually figured it out tbh

also she thinks ur cute too

I'm a self taught artist. If you can think of and describe a robot, I can probably draw it.
(Now I draw furries too and sell coms for just $10 over PayPal)
